Fixing Wobbly Fence Posts

Edinburgh is affectionately known as ‘The Windy City’, and after a blustery winter (or summer!) it is possible that there are a few fence posts rattling about. Fence posts can be sorted out easily enough, by removing the old post and concrete base (assuming whoever put it in didn’t use too much!) then replacing with a new post and filling the hole with quick-drying post mix. Very often, people will try to fix the existing wobbly post, but it is worth the extra effort of digging out and replacing. Choice of fencing can also be important – if you are in a particularly windy spot try to choose a fencing type that will disrupt the wind but also let it pass through, rather than being a solid obstacle that will catch the wind like a sail (and therefore be more likely to blow over).
